“There’s no such thing as being cautiously optimistic;
you’re either cautious or optimistic, but not both.”
– Jaime McMillan
Jaime McMillan, J.D.
I started my Wall Street career in Atlanta Georgia with Bear Stearns Securities in 1991 as a Registered Representative after graduating with a BA in Political Science from North Carolina State University. My brokerage department focused on leading blue chip company stocks appropriate for the firm’s business clients. I’m a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Reserves at the Naval Air Station Marietta Georgia while working for Bear Stearns.
In 1993 I accepted a position in equity trading with Charles Schwab & Co in Phoenix including trading options and derivatives. Schwab Advice Services. Having experience in Advice offerings I led branches in Portland, San Francisco and San Diego in Schwab’s growing Client Advice programs in the 1990’s. As one of Schwab’s top national Private Client Advisers, I was selected as one of 7 Regional Managers at U.S. Trust Company N.A. a new subsidiary of Schwab’s high new worth Private Client service.
In 2003, I went to law school (evening classes while working) at Trinity Law School in Orange County California earning a Juris Doctorate degree. I left Charles Schwab in 2008 to open McMillan Adviser Multi Family Offices in Colorado, one of the oldest independent Registered Investment Adviser firms in America offering investment management and planning services to individual families. The company is based in Durango Colorado and licensed where required in States across America.
